The University, the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital jointly fund the Herston Health Sciences Library.

Located within the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital the library provides resources and services to support the teaching, learning and research needs of:

  • UQ staff and students
  • Staff of the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) and the
  • Lady Cilento Children's Hospital

The after-hours book return chute is located outside the entrance to the Library. During opening hours, return all items to the returns chute at the service point. 

24/7 space

The eZone is accessible 24/7.  After-hours access is via the corridor between the library entrance and the UQ Health Sciences building, Level 6 Block 6 and the UQ Health Sciences building.

UQ students and staff can apply for swipe access by emailing idcards@library.uq.edu.au with their full name and student number/staff number. Carry your UQ ID card with you. 

Hospital staff who are UQ Library members can apply for swipe access at the library desk during library opening hours.
