Panel discussion: Investigating Arthur Upfield
You are invited to join us for a panel discussion on Investigating Arthur Upfield: A Centenary Collection of Critical Essays, co-edited by Kees de Hoog and Carol Hetherington. Chaired by Professor Peter Spearritt.
Arthur Upfield created Detective Inspector Napoleon Bonaparte (Bony) who features in twenty-nine novels written from the 1920s to the late 1960s, mostly set in the Australian Outback.
When: Tuesday 14 May 2013, 10:00am until 11:30am (morning tea will be served at 10.00am, the panel discussion will begin at 10.30am).
Where: Library Conference Room, Level 1, Duhig Building (2), UQ St Lucia Campus

Panellists:
Kees de Hoog received his BSc and MBA degrees from the University of Western Australia. He maintains the Arthur Upfield: Creator of "Bony" Internet site, and has published three anthologies of Upfield's short works, two of his non-Bony novels, and two related books.
Carol Hetherington was formerly the Manager of the Bibliographic Information Service within AustLit: The Australian Literature Resource, and is an Editorial Assistant for Australian Literary Studies. Carol writes in the field of publishing history.
Professor Peter Spearritt (Chair) is Professor of History at The University of Queensland and Director of the Centre for the Government of Queensland. He is the author of numerous works on history and culture, including The Sydney Harbour Bridge : A Life.
