What is streaming?

  • Streaming is the process of communicating video or audio data across the Internet which can be displayed on a viewing device in real time

What can be streamed?

  • Video and audio streaming is available for offair television, radio and Foxtel programs broadcast after 29 January 1990 to support teaching and research
  • Commercially produced DVD/VHS cannot be streamed, exceptions are possible. Contact the Multimedia Librarian for further assistance

How can I request offair video streaming for my course?

  • Contact the Multimedia Service with details of the broadcast: title, channel, date, time, call number and course code eg., COMU1000

Access to video streams

  • Access to offair video streams or DVD, is available only to UQ staff and students
  • Video and audio streams can be accessed on any computer or Apple/Andriod powered mobile device

How to find video and audio streams

  • Find all offair streaming video in the library collection
  • See "Video streams on demand" pages to access our streamed feature films, documentaries and more
  • DVDs are also available for streamed videos and can be borrowed for 7 days, unless required for courses
