Exams finished- holidays are here.

It is that time of year again, exams are finished and the holidays are here.

The library staff would like to congratulate all the students on a successful year. It began as a challenging year for many but we have made it to the end.

Some highlights of the year include:

Law Library Refurbishment

The work on the new 'UQ Law School Student Learning Centre' will begin on Monday 21st November.

The Library will remain open during these renovations with some areas being inaccessible to both staff and students.

The area on Level 2 beyond the lift will become a construction area and will be closed to all staff and students. Access to levels 3 & 4 will be via the lift only.

A subject guide to selected medical eBooks has been created to help you locate them more easily.

UQ Library Excellence Award

Enter and win $1000.00.

The UQ Library Excellence Award is presented annually to up to three UQ undergraduate students who demonstrate excellence in the use of the Library to enhance their studies. The award is open to any undergraduate, including honours, student of the University who is not a member of staff.

Applications close: 1 October 2011.

Law Library Update

Work on the new

' UQ Law School Student Learning Centre'

will commence on 21st November 2011.

To prepare for this you will notice some changes in the Library over the next few months.

August/ September- some duplicate Library material on Level 4 will be removed from the Library.

September- Library staff will rearrange collections on Level 4

Closure of 24X7 Study Space - Dorothy Hill Engineering and Sciences Library for weekend

If you use the 24X7 study space under the Dorothy Hill Engineering and Sciences Library, please note that this space will be closed during the weekend 8th and 9th July.

You can still use the study space in the Biological Sciences Library that weekend.

TC Beirne's Desk

The family of TC Beirne has kindly donated his original desk to the Law School and the Law Library.

The desk has been restored and is now on display in the Law Library, outside the Moot Court.

It will remain here as a permanent display.

We ask that you come and look at the desk but the desk is not for use.
