Ask I.T. - O Week - Gatton Campus

Welcome to students commencing study at UQ Gatton in Semester 2, and welcome back continuing students. During O Week, Ask I.T. is offering two information sessions for new students on Thursday, 19 July, 'Introduction to eLearning (Blackboard)' and 'Computing @ UQ'. Both sessions run consecutively and will be held in the Main Lecture Theatre, Building 8178. The first session commences at 1:30pm.

Blackboard Training Sessions for Week 1

Due to the technical issues suffered by Blackboard during O week, Ask I.T. have scheduled some extra student Blackboard training sessions during the first week of Semester 1.

The dates and times for the extra sessions are....

Tuesday 28/2 at 10am in eZone3

Thursday 1/3 at 1pm in eZone2 and

Friday 2/3 at 10am in eZone1

Ask I.T. Computing Help at Gatton

Ask I.T. supports students in their use of I.T. for university work. This includes help connecting mobile devices to the university's wireless network, eduroam and student account issues such as passwords. You can find out more about the services Ask I.T. provides on the website.

Gatton's Ask I.T. Help Desk is located on the lower level of the library, near the Printer and during semester help is available from 10am to 4pm.

Eduroam wireless

Dear Students,

As was recently announced in UQ News: the UQconnect wireless network will be decommissioned in favour of the Eduroam (pronounced Ed-u-roam) wireless network from January 20, 2012.

To access the Eduroam network you must configure your wireless capable device. This can be done using the instructions at UQconnect.net

Blackboard outage rescheduled

Dear Students,

Blackboard upgrade and service outage rescheduled

Recently all students were notified via email, and on this blog, of the planned upgrade to the University Blackboard system. This was due to take place between Saturday 2nd of July and Wednesday 6th of July.

Due to a number of technical issues outside of the University's control, this upgrade has now been postponed until the Summer Semester of 2011, and the previously announced service outage will no longer take place.

UQ is trialing Blackboard Mobile. Now you'll be able to use your iPhone, iPad, Android or Blackberry to access your Blackboard courses on the go.
