Digital Object Identifiers - now official!

On Monday 23rd April, 2012, a new International Standards Office (ISO) standard was authorised - ISO 26324:2012

DOI is an acronym for "digital object identifier".

The formal explanation from ISO is "specifies the syntax, description and resolution functional components of the digital object identifier system, and the general principles for the creation, registration and administration of DOI names.

It's Orientation Week at UQ - welcome new students.

Come on a Library tour and attend a Discover the Library session during O Week.

Then the Library conducts a range of classes which will help you start the year well.

Getting Started sessions start in O Week and continue for a few weeks.

Faculty sessions are designed to help you find information for your assignments.

Law Library Refurbishment

The work on the new 'UQ Law School Student Learning Centre' will begin on Monday 21st November.

The Library will remain open during these renovations with some areas being inaccessible to both staff and students.

The area on Level 2 beyond the lift will become a construction area and will be closed to all staff and students. Access to levels 3 & 4 will be via the lift only.

Work on the new

' UQ Law School Student Learning Centre'

will commence on 21st November 2011.

To prepare for this you will notice some changes in the Library over the next few months.

August/ September- some duplicate Library material on Level 4 will be removed from the Library.

September- Library staff will rearrange collections on Level 4

It's O (Orientation) Week and Library staff at Gatton Campus would like to wish everyone a warm welcome to Semester 2, 2011. It doesn't matter if you are a new student or have studied here for some time, O Week is a good time to get answers to your questions.
