Journal Articles

For recent information, journal articles are often the best sources. Looking through individual journals in the hope of finding relevant material is time-consuming. It is better to use the databases to find articles on your topic.

Journal Articles: 

MLA International Bibliography
This database lists journal articles and books on the language and literature of the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America.

Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts
This database lists journal articles and books on Spanish and Portuguese linguistics.

Historical Abstracts
This database lists journal articles and books on the history of the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America from 1450 to the present.

Worldwide Political Science Abstracts
This database lists journal articles on the politics and government of the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America.

Dialnet
This database lists journal articles, books and theses, mostly in Spanish, on the Hispanic world. Some of the references are available in full text.

Newspapers

Newspapers: 

Many older Spanish newspapers (up to the early 20th century) are available digitally on the website of the Hemeroteca Digital of the National Library of Spain.

Translated newspaper articles and radio broadcasts from the period 1941 to 1996 are included in the Foreign Broadcast Information Service daily reports.

From the 1990s onwards, many newspapers from the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America are available online via the Factiva database.
