Journal Articles

For recent information, journal articles are often the best sources. Looking through individual journals in the hope of finding relevant material is time-consuming. It is better to use the databases to find articles on your topic.

Journal Articles: 

MLA International Bibliography
This database lists journal articles and books on Russian language and literature.

Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts
This database lists journal articles and books on Russian linguistics.

Historical Abstracts
This database lists journal articles and books on Russian history from 1450 to the present.

Worldwide Political Science Abstracts
This database lists journal articles on Russian and Soviet politics and government.

Newspapers

Newspapers: 

Pravda (microfilm from 1917 onwards)

Izvestiia (microfilm from 1967 onwards)

Translated newspaper articles and radio broadcasts from the period 1941 to 1996 are included in the Foreign Broadcast Information Service daily reports.

From the 1990s onwards, many Russian newspapers are available online via the Factiva database.
