Journal Articles

For recent information, journal articles are often the best sources. Looking through individual journals in the hope of finding relevant material is time-consuming. It is better to use the databases to find articles on your topic.

Journal Articles: 

MLA International Bibliography
This database lists journal articles and books on German language and literature.

Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts
This database lists journal articles and books on German linguistics.

Historical Abstracts
This database lists journal articles and books on German history from 1450 to the present.

Bibliographie der deutschen Sprach- und Literaturwissenschaft
This annual printed bibliography is the most thorough guide to new publications on German literature.

Worldwide Political Science Abstracts
This database lists journal articles on German politics and government.

Newspapers

Newspapers: 

Die Zeit (online from 1946 onwards)

Translated newspaper articles and radio broadcasts from the period 1941 to 1996 are included in the Foreign Broadcast Information Service daily reports.

From the 1990s onwards, many German newspapers are available online via the Factiva database.
