Journal Articles

For recent information, journal articles are often the best sources. Looking through individual journals in the hope of finding relevant material is time-consuming. It is better to use the databases to find articles on your topic.

Journal Articles: 

ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) -Subjects covered are adult, career and vocational education, counselling, elementary & early childhood education, education management, higher education, second-language learning, special education, teacher education & tests, measurement and evaluation.

A+ Education - indexing and full text database of published material on all aspects of education. It includes all the journal indexing from the Australian Education Index (AEI).

ProQuest Education Journals - full-text professional magazines and journals that address all aspects of K-12 education.

PsycINFO - international literature in psychology and related disciplines, including education.

SCOPUS - multidisciplinary abstract and citation database of research literature and quality web sources.

EdITLib - Education and Information Technology Digital Library. Fulltext journal articles and conference papers.

Teacher Reference Centre - coverage on key education topics such as assessment, continuing education, current pedagogical research, curriculum development, instructional media, language arts, literacy standards, science & mathematics.

Multimedia

Multimedia: 

Education in video. Contains streaming video developed specifically for training and developing teachers.

ResourceBank - a collection of online, class-ready tasks, organised by curriculum topic that can be used as extensions to lesson plans and revision materials, for school or home use.

Scootle - Scootle is a secure online teaching and learning environment providing access to all Le@rning Federation digital curriculum content. It enables users to easily find the digital resources in direct relationship to curriculum. Scootle was designed and developed for teacher education students and teachers to access and use the national digital resources. Registration is required.

Teacher's TV Australia - a web and 24 hour cable television initiative showing stories that are focussed on classroom & school observation to illustrate how different teachers deal with challenges, ideas, problems, innovation & systems.
