Journal Articles
For recent information, journal articles are often the best sources. Looking through individual journals in the hope of finding relevant material is time-consuming. It is better to use the databases to find articles on your topic.
Bibliographic database covering international research and development literature in agriculture, animal health, forestry, human health and nutrition, and management and conservation of natural resources. As well as the journal literature, coverage includes selected conference proceedings, books and reports.
Covers all aspects of agriculture and allied disciplines, including animal and veterinary sciences, entomology, plant sciences, forestry, aquaculture and fisheries, farming and farming systems, agricultural economics, extension and education, food and human nutrition, and earth and environmental sciences. Agricola is the US National Agricultural Library Catalog and Article Citation Database, indexing journal articles, book chapters, reports, audiovisual and other material. Since 2006 Agricola has reduced its journal coverage.
AGRIS is an FAO databases covering all aspects of agriculture, including forestry, animal husbandry, aquatic sciences and fisheries, human nutrition, and extension literature from over 100 participating countries. As well as the journal literature AGRIS covers unpublished scientific and technical reports, theses, conference papers, government publications.
Agritrop is a database of publications (some full text) on tropical agronomy from CIRAD a French research centre. Other open access resources are available at the above link as well.
Provides access to current and retrospective multidisciplinary information from high impact research journals. Web of Science also provides cited reference searching.

SciFinder indexes the Chemical Abstracts Service databases that contain literature from many scientific disciplines including biomedical sciences, chemistry, engineering, materials science, agricultural science, and others. SciFinder enables structure and other chemical searches as well as topic and author searching.
A comprehensive database for life science and biomedical research. It consists of Biological Abstracts, an index to the journal literature in experimental, pure and field life sciences and non-clinical literature in the biomedical sciences. BA is supplemented by BA-RRM which lists reports, reviews, meetings, and conference proceedings.

A global portal to plant genetic resources for food and agriculture. Sourced from EURISCO, a European network of ex situ National Inventories of plant collections; SINGER, System-wide Information Network for Genetic Resources, the germplasm information exchange network of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR); the U.S. National Genetic Resources Program (NGRP); and other genebanks.
Gramene is a platform for comparative genomic analysis of agriculturally important grasses, including maize, rice, sorghum, wheat and barley. Relationships between cereals are queried and displayed using controlled vocabularies (Gene, Plant, Trait, Environment, and Gramene Taxonomy) and web-based displays, including the Genes and Quantitative Trait Loci (QTL) modules.
International Soil Reference and Information Centre provides soil datasets and maps on the local, national and global scale. A wider range of datasets can be queried using ISRIC's metadata service. In 2013 ISRIC opens a crowd souring framework for soil data storage. ISRIC invites individuals and organizations collecting soil data to contribute their data to this world soil database.

International Plant Protection Convention - IPPC
The IPPC develops International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPMs) for safeguarding plant resources including: procedures and references; pest surveillance, survey and monitoring; import regulations and pest risk analysis; compliance procedures and phytosanitary inspection methodologies; pest management; post entry quarantine; exotic pest emergency response, control and eradication; and export certification. IPPC also provides information exchange related to import and export requirements, pest status and regulated pest lists provided by each member country and Regional Plant Protection Organizations.
