Requesting items, Loans & Catalogue Checking
You can request items from other campuses, check and renew loans and search our catalogue using your web browser. Access to the feedback blog is available throughout our website.
Retrieval, Photocopying & Printing assistance
Please consult our staff if you require assistance with retrieving items from shelves. Photocopying and printing assistance can be arranged in advance if required. Participation assistance can be arranged with the Student Services Learning Hub - Disability.
Peer notetaking
A program is available through the Student Services Learning Hub - Disability for students who are attending lectures but cannot take adequate notes because of their disability. Arrangements are made for a student peer to provide copies of the notes taken in lectures..
Book scanning for research students and staff with visual impairment
The Library scans books for UQ researchers with visual impairment, where there is no electronic version available which meets their needs. This produces a file which can be "read aloud", using screen-reader software. Students register for this service through their Disability Advisor, Student Services. Please send requests to the Library's Access Scanning service.
Australian Communication Exchange National Relay Service
Because the Library has numerous service points, the use of a TTY is not feasible. If you have a speech or hearing impairment, we suggest that you make use of the Australian Communication Exchange National Relay Service to contact the Library by phone.
Student Services - Disability Program
The Library works closely with the University's Student Services Learning Hub - Disability, which provides many services for students with Disabilities.
Student Services - Learning Assistance
Librarians work with Learning Assistance, Student Services to help students become independent and confident learners able to achieve their academic goals. The Learning Assistance staff help students to understand the standards and demands of the educational system and to develop appropriate approaches to meet these demands.
