Databases available to UQ Alumni library members
Alumni membership does not provide access to all of the databases or electronic journals in the UQ Library collection. Access is determined by the terms of publisher licenses.
Alumni membership includes remote access to the following databases:
Annual Reviews Online
Annual Reviews publications are among the most highly cited in the scientific
literature, and are available in print and online to individuals, institutions,
and consortia throughout the world.
AustLit:
the Australian literature resource
Indexes and describes Australian literature published in a range of print and
electronic information sources. It provides authoritative information on
hundreds of thousands of creative and critical Australian literature works
relating to Australian authors and literary organisations.
Business Source Alumni Edition (EBSCOHost)
Provides more than 1,300 full-text business magazines and journals, of which
over 650 are peer-reviewed. Business Source Alumni Edition includes
publications in nearly every area of business including marketing, management,
MIS, POM, accounting, finance, econometrics, economics and more.
JSTOR
A database established to convert back issues of paper journals into electronic
format in core fields.
Project
MUSE
A unique collaboration between libraries and publishers providing full-text and
user-friendly online access to humanities, arts, and social sciences journals
from 60 scholarly publishers.
Alumni may also access the Project MUSE ebook collection, which provides
full-text and user-friendly online access to humanities, arts, social sciences
and sciences e-books from the UPCC publishers.
Wiley Online Library - pilot program (until end 2013)
A multidisciplinary collection of online resources covering life, health and
physical sciences, social science, and the humanities. It delivers seamless
integrated access to articles from journals, books, and reference works,
laboratory protocols and databases.
Access to additional electronic resources:
Access to many of the electronic resources provided by UQ Library is restricted to currently enrolled UQ students and staff. There are some electronic resources accessible to any individual within the library, without the need for membership, however there is no off-site access to these resources for alumni or community. Anyone is welcome to visit any of our branches and use our on-site collections.
Public libraries may have electronic resources that are available to the general public, and the State Library of Queensland provides accessto a large number of authoritative eresources; all of these can be accessed at State Library and most are also accessible 24/7 to those with SLQ membership or a Queensland Public Library (QPL) account. The National Library of Australia also makes some licenced databases available via its eResources page.
