ResearcherID

ResearcherID is a Thomson Reuters product which can be searched by anyone, even if their library does not subscribe to any other Thomson Reuters product. After initial free registration you can list all of your publications or upload them from an EndNote library. Those included in the Web of Science database can be linked to the citation count of the publication. Citation counts are automatically updated from the Web of Science monthly. Each time you publish you add the details of the new publication to your ResearcherID list.

This means that an up-to-date citation analysis of your publications included in the Web of Science is immediately available to those reviewing your grant, considering your appointment, or considering your promotion. This is particularly useful for authors with ambiguous names or if there has been inconsistent use of author’s initials etc.
