Scholarly Publishing and Digitisation Service
The Scholarly Publishing and Digitisation
Service contributes to research excellence at UQ.
In partnership with the Library's Research Information Service, we provide advice and support in a range of areas including citation metrics, scholarly publishing, open access, digitisation, repositories and research data management.
We manage the following services:
- UQ eSpace - this publications repository supports University programs such as HERDC, Q-index and ERA, as well as housing theses and some open access publications.
- AustLit - the 'gold standard' gateway to Australian Literature.
- Digitisation - we are digitising significant library collections to improve discoverability and access. We can also consult with you about digitisation costs, digitisation projects and planning.
We also provide advice, support and training in the following
areas:
- Scholarly publishing - we work with librarians in the Research Information Service to provide metrics and citation information to support and enhance grant and promotion applications. We can advise you about Thomson Reuters' ResearcherID service and other developments in this field. We also provide advice on writing and publishing.
- ePublishing - we are working with the Graduate School to investigate the viability of an open access, graduate ePublishing platform.
- Research data collections - we work closely with researchers to describe data collections for discovery through national services such as Research Data Australia. Making data available for sharing and re-use enhances data visibility. This can improve citation rates and foster collaboration.
- Research data management - we can consult with you about all aspects of data management.
We maintain the eScholarship blog which covers a wide range of topics, news, events, reports, projects and developments in the research and scholarly publishing fields.
