Importing from Summon and UQ Library catalogue
- When you have performed your search, sit your mouse on a reference to see the save this item icon which will appear on the right-hand side of the screen. Click on this icon to save a reference.
- When you have finished saving references, go to the Saved Items icon at the bottom of the screen. Click on the link to display the saved references.
- When the pop-up window opens, click on the EndNote tab.
- When prompted, Open the file of references. Always check the imported references to ensure that data has downloaded correctly e.g. references downloaded from Summon do not import the edition statement
There are two ways of downloading references from the University of Queensland catalogue. Use the Firefox browser
1. Searching the catalogue via the web and downloading references enables use of the search options offered by the catalogue.
2. Searching the library catalogue from EndNote using a connection file is quicker but the search options are limited. Any references downloaded will import with call number and shelving location details.. Search the library catalogue via the web and download references to EndNote

- On the library home page click on the Catalogue tab
- Perform your search and check the boxes of the items you want to download
- Click on Save marked records on page
- If viewing the full details of a reference you can click on the Export button at the top of the screen to add the reference to your export list
- Having collected, marked and saved all your references, click on the View/Export Saved Records button
- A new window will open. Under the heading Format of List, check End-Note/RefWorks. Under the heading Send List To, check Local Disk
- Click on the Submit button and select Open the file and from the drop-down box choose EndNote X5.0.1
2. Search the library catalogue from EndNote using a connection file
- Download the connection file for the University of Queensland catalogue here. There is information on the page about where to save the connection.
- In EndNote use the Online Search (or Connect) function
to search the library catalogue using the connection file you have just
downloaded.
