Excellence in Research for Australia

Capture.jpg The Excellence in Research for Australia, or ERA, is an initiative of the Federal Government of Australia to assess research quality within Australia's higher education institutions.

The ERA uses a combination of peer review and metrics indicators to evaluate research across 8 discipline clusters. The first ERA was held in 2010, with information about the process and the national report of results available here.

Another round of the ERA is scheduled for 2012. Information is available from the Australian Research Council.

A draft journal list for ERA 2012 has been posted on, and can be downloaded from the ARC's current consultations web page.

For UQ Staff and Students: information on the ERA process and preparations for the 2012 submission can be found here.
