EndNote Web

Setting up your account

From a computer on a UQ campus, or from a home computer using a UQ dialup Internet connection:

From a home computer using a commercial Internet Service Provider:

  • Set up an account by going to the UQ Library Databases page
  • Navigate to the entry for the Web of Knowledge database, and use your UQ username and password to connect to that database. Once connected, register as a user and choose a password. You will now be able to follow the links http://www.myendnoteweb.com/ to access EndNote Web.

Renewing your account

Once you have set up your account, you have access to EndNote Web for a period of twelve months. If at any time you access EndNote Web from a computer with a UQ Internet address, your account is automatically extended for a further twelve months.

Using EndNote Web on computers in the library

The Word plug in is available on most computers in the UQ Library.

  • Open Microsoft Word on a Library computer
  • click EndNote tab on the ribbon at the top of the screen.
  • Click Preferences tab. This will open a dialogue box.
  • Click Application tab. Now check the EndNote Web option. Enter the email address and password that you chose when you set up your EndNote Web account.

A connection is now being established between Word and EndNote Web, so you will be asked to supply your normal UQ username and password. Finally you will again be asked to enter your EndNote Web account details.

When authentication is complete you will see the EndNote Web commands at the top of the screen in Microsoft Word.
