The Digital Curation Centre (DCC)

Funded by JISC, the Digital Curation Centre is the UK's leading hub of expertise in the curation of digital research data. The service provides an online data management planning tool as well as advice about licensing.

The Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research is clear about researchers' responsibilities to manage data.

2.6.1 Keep clear and accurate records of the research methods and data sources.

2.6.2 Ensure that research data and primary materials are kept in safe and secure storage provided, even when not in current use.

2.6.3 Provide the same level of care and protection to primary research records, such as laboratory notebooks, as to the analysed research data.

The Australian Research Collaboration Service provides a number of useful data management and data sharing services. The Data Fabric, WebDrive, the Data Transfer Service and other services allow users to share and store data safely, while online meeting services such as EVO and Access Grid enable face to face video collaboration.
