Capture toolbar add-on
Web pages can be added to EndNote (desktop) or EndNote (web) using a browser addon.
Installing the browser add-on
There are two options using the EndNote bookmarket or the Firefox add-on.
-
Capture bookmarklet
Logon to EndNote online (or register using your UQ email). Choose Options > Download Installers. To install the Capture tool, just drag the Capture Reference button to your toolbar (e.g. "Favorites Bar" or "Bookmarks Toolbar"). -
Capture Firefox Add-on
Download the Firefox add-on to save online references directly into your library.
Note: The 'Capture' option is not available on library computers. Capture can be installed on your own Windows or Mac machine.
Capturing web pages
- Once installed a Capture icon will be available on your
toolbar. Click on the Capture icon to add a web page's citation details to
EndNote. The Capture Reference window will open. Follow the instructions in
the window.

- Capture will add a web page Title, Year, Abstract, Keywords and
URL. Additional fields can be added.
- Save the window to my.endnote.com (web) or EndNote (desktop).
