Quiet Spaces and Discussion Spaces

There are different areas of the Library for quiet study and for talking in groups. Wireless access is available in all areas of the Dorothy Hill Physical Sciences and Engineering Library.

Quiet Spaces:

  • There are individual desks for quiet study on Levels 3
  • Single Study Rooms are located on Level 4 and can be booked online.
  • The Recently Received area and the eZone Training Room on Level 2 are quiet study spaces.
  • Please don't talk in these areas. Go to the discussion spaces on Level 1 if you need to talk.

Discussion Spaces:

  • Level 1 provides group tables near computers for group work and discussions.
  • There are laptop facilities on Level 1 and wireless access is available throughout the Library.

 Mobile phones:
  • Turn your phone to silent as you enter the Library, just in case it rings while you're in a Quiet Space.
  • Only answer your phone in the discussion space on Level 1.
  • The stairwells are not good places to use your phone, as the sound travels into Quiet Spaces.
