Peer Review Process

The Editors will acknowledge receipt of all contributions. An Editor and two Editorial Advisory Board members will review all contributions submitted as articles and short reports. As for any refereed journal, authors may be asked to make revisions to their manuscript. If substantial revision is required manuscripts may be re-reviewed before a decision to publish is made. Once a paper is accepted in its final form, page-proofs will be sent to the senior author for checking. Proof Approval and Author Agreement forms will be sent with the page-proofs and must be completed and returned before publication can proceed. Final acceptance of manuscripts for publication is at the discretion of the Editors. For paper submission instructions see below.

Publication Frequency

Queensland Archaeological Research is published in one volume per year. Individual contributions are published as soon as they are ready as part of the year's volume.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Digitisation of QAR Volumes 1-13 was funded by the Australian Association of Consulting Archaeologists Inc. Queensland Chapter. Jay Hall and Sean Ulm provided hard copy back issues for the guillotine. Development and hosting of the initial version of this website was undertaken in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit at The University of Queensland. Antje Noll assisted with preparation of digital files. The digitisation project was undertaken as one of the initiatives to mark Jay Hall's retirement from the University of Queensland in 2007. Merle O'Rourke assisted with the migration of QAR to the current Open Journal System sponsored by the University of Queensland Archaeological Services Unit (UQASU).
