Kiwi Architecture: Modernism Recycled
Abstract
This title was provoked by a paper entitled ‘Aussie Architecture’ by Gevork Hartoonian presented at the nineteenth SAHANZ conference held in Brisbane in 2002. In this paper Hartoonian discusses: “the state of architecture in the period between the Second World War and the present, the state of knowledge in postmodernity and, finally, the dialogue between model and type.” This paper is divided into the same three sections but looks at New Zealand architecture.
