Category	Explanation
When to use this service	Items not held by UQ Library Print journal articles held by UQ on another campus. Tip - it's quicker to place the request via the catalogue record.
Number of items	Undergraduates - 20 per semester Postgraduates, staff - 100 items per semester
What can I request?	Books, journal articles, conference papers, multimedia, etc. Books and multimedia published in the last 12 months, plus theses, must be ordered for UQ Library's collection Must be related to your research, teaching or studies
Cost	Free, except for accelerated delivery and postage to return book loans to UQ (if required) Note that each request costs the Library at least $16.50 plus postage
How much info should I provide?	Provide as much information as possible
How long does it take?	Depends on the item being requested and the source of supply
How will I receive items?	Copies of articles will be made available online. You will be notified by email. Books and other items - you will be notified via email when they are ready for pick-up
Help viewing documents	PC and Macintosh users
Get it at UQ Library link	Within databases, you will come across "Get it at UQ Library" link. If the article is not available in fulltext, you will be presented with a list of options, including a link to the Catalogue and Document Delivery.

How much information should I provide?

Please provide as much detail as possible.

Category	Explanation
Author/Article author	Enter as Surname, Forename/Initals e.g. Smith, John or Smith, J
Title/Article Title	Mandatory If you do not know the title, type "unknown"
Appears in journal	Mandatory Enter the name of the journal your article appears in, if it is not already there If you only have an abbreviated title, enter exactly as it has been cited
Location/Call no	Use when requesting copies of journal articles held by UQ Otherwise leave blank
Special instructions	Instructions such as: Specific edition required; plates to be included indicate acceptance of any extra charges for accelerated delivery
Library Use Only	leave blank

How long does it take?

The following is a general delivery guide:

Australian locations	Usually supplied within 2 weeks
Overseas locations	Articles usually arrive within 7 to 10 working days Books may take quite some time to supply

Rush - 24 hour service

The item or negative response is sent within 24 hours of receiving the request

Rush books can take up to 2 days to arrive

Cost: copies - $14.00; books - $24.00 (includes GST)

Express - 2 hour service (journal articles only)

The item or a negative response is sent within 2 hours of receiving the request

Cost - $27.00 (includes GST)

Follow these steps:

Add the payment method to the special instructions field of the request form
Telephone the Document Delivery staff in your branch library to ensure that it is given priority

Phone - ring 3346 4313 for Mastercard and Visa payments during the Social Sciences and Humanities Library 's opening hours
Mail:
- Bank cheque or money order from the post office
- Payable to the University of Queensland

Accelerated services cannot be guaranteed for items requested from overseas
