About the warehouse
The warehouse is the Library's closed access collection of lesser-used materials that have been transferred from the branch libraries. There are two locations:
Warehouse 1 - Walcott Street (St Lucia Campus)
Warehouse 2 - Gatton Warehouse (Gatton Campus)
The collection is managed by staff in the Access team within the Library's information Access Service.
Requesting material
Books, Maps etc
Books, maps etc housed in the warehouse have the status of AVAILABLE e.g.

These books can be requested via the catalogue by clicking on at the top of the catalogue record.

Journals
Copies of journal articles may be requested via the catalogue:
Search for a journal in the Library's catalogue
Click on Request article under the Quick Links heading in the journal catalogue record, complete the online form and click on the 'Submit this request' button.
To use this service, you must:
- Be a registered Library member and be eligible for document delivery
- Have an email address in your Library record
Alumni, reciprocal and community borrowers can request journal articles from UQ's closed access collections (warehouse) at the Loans Desk of any branch library.
Unregistered users can request journal articles from UQ's closed access collections (warehouse) through their local library or through the National Library of Australia's Copies Direct service.
The supply of journal articles is subject to the Copyright Act.
Delivery time
Material is retrieved from warehouse 1 and 2 every weekday morning. Depending on mail delivery, warehouse items can take 3-4 days to reach the pickup location or be delivered to you.
Returning warehouse loans
Warehouse loans should be returned to the branch library where they were picked up.
Access to the collection
Clients who have special research needs may request the loan of journal volumes. Please contact any branch library to discuss your needs.
Relocation of warehouse items to a branch library
Items which have come back into demand can be transferred out of the warehouse into a branch library collection at any time.
