Referencing Software
Use referencing software, such as EndNote, to create your own database of references. You can type the references yourself or import them from a database, to create bibliographies, in text citations or to footnote your thesis, assignment or journal article in your preferred citation style.
The University of Queensland Library has negotiated a site licence for EndNote, which permits all eligible staff and students of the University access to the software. To obtain a copy go to the following website.
AGIS EndNote Filter
Filters allow you to import references that you have saved from a database into your EndNote reference library. In order to import references that you have saved from the AGIS database, download the AGIS EndNote filter and save to the Filters EndNote folder on your computer. Instructions are available which detail how to download records from AGIS to import into EndNote.
AGLC Output Styles for EndNote
Output styles are used to control the appearance of references in a bibliography. Styles can be modified and new styles can be created using EndNote's style editor. In order to footnote according to AGLC you will need to download the appropriate output style and save to the Styles EndNote folder on your computer.
- AGLC3 Footnotes Only (Australian Guide to Legal Citation 2nd ed) - Use this output style for documents that do not require a bibliography. This output style MUST be used in conjunction with one of our guides to using AGLC3 with EndNote: for EndNote X3 (12)
- AGLC3 Footnotes and Bibliography (Australian Guide to Legal Citation 2nd ed) - Use this output style for documents requiring a bibliography. This output style MUST be used in conjunction with one of our guides to using AGLC3 with EndNote: for EndNote X3 (12)
