About the Exhibition

Welcome to this on-line exhibition of the history of the institutions occupying the site, known as "Sandy Gallop", which is now The University of Queensland's Ipswich Campus.

This place has had a long history supporting those with an intellectual disability, and we now expect that it will have an equally long history as a university campus.

This on-line exhibition is fascinating, and has drawn together resources from a very wide range of published and unpublished material. We hope that it will provide a further set of resources for the fascinating history of the City of Ipswich, and of this part of the city in particular.

My thanks to all those staff of the UQ Ipswich Library involved in bringing this to fruition. We hope that you find it both interesting and useful.

Professor Alan Rix
Pro-Vice-Chancellor
