The RCD Library Service represents the UQ Library in the Central Queensland region. It provides resources and services to support the teaching, learning and research needs of UQ staff and students located at the Bundaberg Base Hospital.

The service is co-located with the Qld Health Library in the Library and Education Resource Centre within the Bundaberg Base Hospital complex. The main entrance to the Centre is on the ground floor of the main hospital building.

The service point is wheelchair accessible and staff are always ready to provide any assistance should it be required.

The Library is open from 7:45am - 4:45pm, Monday to Friday. These hours may vary on occasion. The University of Queensland Liaison Librarian is not in attendance at all times. Twenty four hour access is available via proximity card. Please see the UQ Liaison Librarian or the Medical Education Officer for further details.
Opening hours for other UQ Library branches are available from the Library website.
All items are to be returned to the designated returns shelf. There is no after-hours book returns chute.
A number of computers are available in the Library and Education Resource Centre for accessing the library website including the online catalogue, databases, and internet. Email facilities are available on all terminals. Three computers are for the exclusive use of UQ affiliated staff and students.

Small exhibitions and displays can be arranged through the RCD Liaison Librarian or the Medical Education Officer.
Several group study areas are available including a group room.

The University of Queensland Library maintains a small collection - currently 130+ items at the Library service in Bundaberg. This is complemented by a Queensland Health collection including 17 hardcopy journal subscriptions. Items may be borrowed from both collections which are co-located.
Key disciplines represented by the UQ collection include Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Surgery and Medicine and Rural and Remote Medicine.
Additional hardcopy information resources are available from the other 13 branch libraries of the University of Queensland Library via the document delivery service.

University of Queensland staff and students may suggest items to be added to the Library's collection.

Enquiries about loans, problems with library records and requests for items held at another campus library can be made with the RCD Liaison Librarian. Held items and items requested from the warehouse or other can be collected from the RCD Liaison Librarian. The Medical Education Officer may also be contacted regarding loan enquires and pickups.
Lost property is held of a short period by the main Reception desk of the Hospital.

Black and white single-sided network printing is available on all computers. A photocopying service is currently not available to patrons.
All copying is subject to copyright restrictions.

A video player and a DVD player are available for viewing teaching and learning resources. The use of the multimedia equipment can be pre-arranged with the Medical Education Officer. At all other times, usage is on an availability basis.

The Library requests that you put your mobile phone on silent mode when using the services and resources of the Library and Education Resource Centre.
A phone is available for internal hospital business only. Pager call-backs may be made on this phone.
