Welcome to the Student Placement site compiled by the QULOC Health and Clinical Practice Practitioner Group.
The student placement site is being developed for health academics and students, and focuses on information and technology services available in Queensland Health, private health services and other health workplaces in Queensland; though services elsewhere in the world where Queensland students are based will also feature.
There are approximately 12,000 university staff and students on placement throughout the health sector in Queensland. These staff and students depend upon information and technology to underpin their research, teaching and learning whilst on placement.
The site aims to provide a one-stop-shop for library and technology information, aiding placement transitions. Greater efficiencies at placement will be achieved through quick identification of services, where the services are located and what technology services can be accessed.
The Queensland University Library members in the QULOC Health and Clinical Practice Practitioner Group are responsible for informing Queensland university staff and students about library, information and technology services. The placement site will help avoid duplication of effort across these libraries and provide a convenient place to store service details.
It is envisaged that university health library staff will integrate a link to the placement site within relevant resources at their university e.g. QUT Blackboard site on Nursing Workplace Integrated Learning.
