The PACE Health Sciences Library is one of the 15 branch libraries of the University of Queensland. It provides resources and services to support the teaching, learning and research needs of staff and students of the Faculty of Health Sciences and The Diamantina Institute.
The PACE Health Sciences Library, located on level 6 of the Pharmacy Centre of Excellence (PACE) Precinct on the Princess Alexandra Hospital Campus, is the 15th branch of the University of Queensland Library. Designed by Design Nest architects, this world class library provides learning spaces and consultation zones which are flexible, comfortable and conducive to collaborative and active learning. The PACE Health Sciences Library opened in semester one, 2010.
The PACE Health Sciences Library collection provides teaching, learning and research materials in various formats for on-site access, use and loan. The onsite collection includes 800 books in the areas of pharmacy, medicine and nursing. The electronic resources are provided via the Library's website and these include 46,101 eJournals, 365,633 eBooks, and 876 databases.
Access to the global body of information is available through the internet. Assistance in the use of information resources focuses on the specific needs of customers. There are 50 public access workstations throughout the PACE Health Sciences Library. These provide access to:

- Online course materials
- MS Office software — Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Access
- UQ network.

The PACE Health Sciences Library is on level 6 of the UQ PACE Precinct which is located beside the Princess Alexandra Hospital, 20 Cornwall Street Woolloongabba.
All services and facilities are on one level. This level contains the return chute; combined loans and information desk; computers with networked printing; two training rooms, the eZone with 26 workstations and two plasma screens; the reference and book collections; the self checkout machine; new books and holds display; as well as a variety of spaces for collaborative and individual study, including four meeting rooms with write-friendly walls, comfortable couches, café-style seating and a specially designed quiet study space. The staff work area is also located on this level.
Access to the Library website, databases, Internet, word processing, and email is available from the computers. A state of the art wireless network is available throughout the PACE Health Sciences Library and the PACE Precinct for student laptop use.

The book return chute is located inside the main entrance to the PACE Health Sciences Library.
The self checkout machine is located beside the information desk near the entrance to the PACE Health Sciences Library.
The PACE Health Sciences Library provides over 50 computers for accessing the Library website, including the catalogue, databases and the internet including email. Microsoft Office and EndNote are available on all computers. A fast wireless network is available throughout the PACE Precinct, including the PACE Health Sciences Library. Data points for network access and power points are available for connecting personal laptops.
Student computing help is available in person from the AskIT helpdesk on level 2 of the Duhig building at St Lucia, or by telephone using either of the two internal phones located for student use in the Library.
Four group Study Rooms are available for students. Bookings may be made for these rooms up to one week in advance, using the Facilities Booking System. Enter your UQ username and password in the relevant day, room and time on the Facilities Booking System. Students may alter their bookings themselves if necessary.
Each room has access to a laptop and an LCD screen with inputs to display your laptop, great for group work. There are also air conditioning, large desks to facilitate group discussion and wall-to-ceiling whiteboard/walls which are conducive to teamwork.
Please put your mobile phone on silent mode when using the library. If you need to use your phone, you can do so in the "Phone Friendly Zone". This zone is located in the photocopy area.
University of Queensland staff and students may suggest items to be added to the Library's collection.
Schools and Centres (staff and postgraduates) may also contact their Liaison Librarian, to make a suggestion for purchase.
New print material is displayed in the New Book Display area and a list of new material is available on the Library website

The PACE Health Sciences Library provides copying facilities and network printing on all Levels.
All copying is subject to copyright restrictions.
There is an automatic card dispensing machine on in the photocopy area where copy cards can be purchased and value added to existing cards.
Television programs useful for teaching, learning and research are copied and placed into the Library's collection. The Library also works closely with the Central Video Replay Service (CVRS).
