Tutor Biographies:

Catherine Clark caclark@library.uwa.edu.au
Catherine Clark is the Manager of the Medical and Dental Library at the University of Western Australia.  Although Catherine is new to this role, she has worked in health libraries previously and is delighted to be back working with health clinicians and researchers present and future.  Catherine's areas of interest are in developing graduates who are information literate, particularly in finding evidence based resources and in supporting the needs of health researchers.  She believes active partnerships between librarians and clinicians/researchers can provide the best health care for patients.

Lars Eriksson l.eriksson@library.uq.edu.au
Lars Eriksson is a Clinical Librarian with the Herston Health Sciences Library serving the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and the Royal Children’s Hospital. Lars has worked in a number of roles at the Herston Health Sciences Library, including as a Liaison Librarian and Senior Librarian. He enjoys the challenge of the health sciences and the variety of work which has over the years included attending ward rounds and being involved with systematic reviews.

Jenny Hall is the liaison librarian for Medicine and numerous UQ departments at the Herston Health Science Library, University of Queensland. She has a background and interest in health, working for some years as a registered nurse. Her primary research interests are the information literacy of health professionals and nursing grand rounds.  Jenny’s skills as an expert searcher are utilised by numerous research teams including the co-authoring four Cochrane systematic reviews.  Jenny is the Editorial Associate for the Neonatal, Paediatric Child Health Nursing.  Jenny holds a Bachelor of Nursing degree, a graduate diploma in Library and Information Studies, and a graduate certificate in Education.   Jenny was the Chair of HLA QLD for three years. 

Lisa Kruesi l.kruesi@library.uq.edu.au
Lisa Kruesi is the Associate Director, Research Information Service (Life Sciences) at the University of Queensland Library.  Her role is to coordinate the services of the three teaching hospital branch libraries in Brisbane, the UQ Dentistry Library and the Rural Clinical School Library Service located in rural Queensland regions.   Lisa has worked in health libraries for over twenty years.  She holds a Bachelor of Social Science in Librarianship and a Master of Business in Information Technology, both obtained from the RMIT University in Victoria, Australia.  Prior to her appointment at UQ, Lisa spent ten years working as a biomedical librarian for CSIRO.  In addition, she has worked as a trainer in the software industry and as a searcher for a Patent and Trademark Attorney.  Lisa has published a number of papers related to health library services and has been actively involved in professional development activities throughout her career.  Lisa was a convenor of the International Congress on Medical Librarianship in 2009.

Suzanne Lewis is Training and Learning Librarian at Northern Sydney Central Coast Health Service in New South Wales, Australia. She has worked in health librarianship for twelve years. Her interests include professional development for health librarians and evidence based librarianship. She has contributed papers and evidence summaries to the online journal Evidence Based Library and Information Practice and with her colleague Lisa Cotter developed an evidence based librarianship website – Libraries Using Evidence.  She is the Convenor of the ALIA Health Libraries Australia group.

Angela Myatt myatta@uthscsa.edu
Angela is the Curriculum Liaison Librarian at the Briscoe Library, the University of Texas, Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). She moved there from the University of Cincinnati in January 2009. One of her interests is the role of librarians as EBM instructors. As Curriculum Liaison Librarian she is charged with facilitating the introduction of Evidence Based Medicine into the School of Medicine curriculum. Angela has taught at the McMaster EBP Workshop and the Dartmouth Institute.
