Step 2. Searching the Library Catalogue

Finding an item in the catalogue

If you already know the author and title of a particular book or resource, you can search for it in the Library Catalogue. This video will show you how:

If you know the citation details of a journal article you can find it through the catalogue. Because the catalogue does not list individual articles there are several steps you need to take in order to find the full text of an article.

If you do not have an exact title you can do a topic search instead. Select the catalogue tab on the library website and in the keyword search box enter suitable search terms for a list of relevant titles. Click on the title for the call number.

Many books are available as e books as well as in print format. E-books (Online books) is a "How-to guide" to introduce you to using online books.

If a book or a journal article you need is not available at a library on your campus, or is not held by UQ library at all, you can request it from another library.
