UQ library databases give you access to News and Current Affairs as well as current and historical newspapers.

You can also watch a range of news and current affairs programs on Informit TV News. (hint: if you can't find it easily do at title search in the catalogue).

The Library has a Multimedia collection which includes:

  • 30000+ BluRay, DVDs, VHS, and Audio CD items
  • Video streams on demand - feature films, documentaries, radio and audio programs and more
  • Feature films in a variety of languages
  • Documentaries, training videos, news and current affair programs on a wide variety of topics
  • Extensive collection of Australian video content from offair television, radio and commercial sources

Try searching one of the core News and Media databases listed below.

(a) Use the UQ Library website to access Factiva. (hint: if you can't find it easily do a title search in the catalogue). Search in the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper for articles about the NSW 2011 election.

(b) Use the UQ Library website to access Trove Australia Digitised Newspapers (hint: if you can't find it easily do a title search in the catalogue). Find an article in the Brisbane Courier newspaper from Monday 24 April 1893 on the Brisbane floods.
