Health Sciences Find: Books Using the Library Catalogue

The Library catalogue lists all books, journal titles, databases and multimedia resources held by all Branch libraries that make up the UQ Library.

To find a specific book in the Library start with a Title search in the CATALOGUE. You can access the catalogue by clicking on the Catalogue tab on the Library homepage.

If you are looking for an item on a topic do a Keyword search.

When looking for a book or other resource in the Library always check the catalogue for availability, location and call number.

Once you've watched the above video, see if you can find the following in the Catalogue.

a) Lookup the following book in the library catalogue and list the requested details:

Sherwood, L. Human physiology : from cells to systems. 7th ed. Belmont (CA): Brooks/Cole, Cengage Learning; 2010.

  1. What is the call number?
  2. Which library branch holds this book?
  3. Is this book available online?

b) Find books written/edited by Goodman:

  1. How many records were retrieved?
  2. How many of these books were written/edited in conjunction with Gilman?
  3. What are the title, edition and call number of the latest edition of their pharmacological basis of therapeutics book?
  4. Is this book available electronically?

c) Lookup the following book in the library catalogue and list the requested details:

Allmendinger, P. Planning theory. 2nd ed. New York : Palgrave Macmillan; 2009.
  1. What is the call number?
  2. Which library branch holds this book?
  3. Is this book available online?
