Borrowing directly from other university libraries
Number of items and loan period
Many tertiary libraries in Australia extend borrowing privileges to staff and students from other tertiary institutions. The University of Queensland has reciprocal borrowing agreements with other Australian universities under University Libraries Australia and New Zealand, the National Borrowing Scheme. This scheme allows students and staff of Australian Vice Chancellors Committee (AVCC) member universities to borrow directly from other AVCC member university libraries.
Please note: Borrowing from other Australian university libraries is a privilege. By requesting to use this service, you are indicating your willingness to abide by the rules and borrowing conditions of the library that is providing this service.
Eligibility varies from insitution to institution. Some will accept all staff and students while others will accept only staff and postgraduate or external students. Some libraries charge a registration fee. Please check with the individual libraries.
You must apply directly to the host library. Details of participating libraries are on the University Libraries Australia and New Zealand website.
Registrations approved between 1 January and 31 December each year are valid to 28 February the following year. A new application must be made each year.
