6. Databases

Summon is one way of locating journal articles for your assignments, but you are also able to search subject specific databases.

The 'Databases' tab on the Library homepage lists subject specific databases - use the 'Browse by Subject' option to find databases for your subject area.

Subject guides also recommend relevant databases for your subject area. Look under the Journal Articles tab to find them.

Read this "How to" guide on Database Searching for tips on how to search in databases, then open the following databases and try a search.

1. Business Source Complete

Search for articles on conflict and team*

  • Go to the left sidebar and refine by the subject headings of 'conflict management' and 'teams in the workplace'
  • How many results do you get?
  • Refine your search further to 'scholarly (peer reviewed) journal articles'
  • Find a relevant article
  • Click on the PDF link or 'Get it at UQ Library' to see the full text

2. ABI Inform

  • Click on the peer reviewed checkbox and run a search for conflict and team*
  • Refine your search by selecting 'conflicts AND teams' in the suggested subjects box
  • How many results do you get?
  • Find a relevant article
  • Locate the fulltext by clicking on 'Get it at UQ Library' or a PDF link
