The UQ Gatton Library is one of the 15 branch libraries of the University of Queensland Library. It provides resources and services to support the teaching, learning and research needs of staff and students in the School of Integrative Systems; School of Animal Studies; the School of Land Crop and Food Sciences and the School of Veterinary Sciences.
The UQ Gatton Library is centrally located on the UQ Gatton Campus in Building number 8102. Information on parking (including casual parking) is available from the University's Traffic and Parking section.
The collection provides teaching, learning and research materials in a wide variety of formats for onsite access, use and loan. The strengths of the UQ Gatton Library are in agribusiness, agriculture, agronomy, animal studies, crop production, equine and companion animals, horticulture, natural and rural systems, veterinary science and wildlife biology.
Links to electronic resources are provided via the Library's website. These include 47,744 eJournals, 370,974 eBooks, and over 1,014 databases. Access to the global body of information is available through the internet.
Assistance in the use of information resources focuses on the specific needs of its clients.
There are over 88 public-access computers throughout the UQ Gatton Library. These provide access to :

On the Upper Level you will find book and journal collections, the reference collection and computers providing access to the Library website, databases and the internet. Photocopying, microform reader/printer, newspapers, past exam papers, course material, Recreational Reading Collection, Information Desk, Loans Desk and the High Use Collection are also located on this floor.
On this level you will find eZones 1 and 2, providing computers which can be used for word processing and access to the Library website, databases and the interent, express email facilities, group study rooms, AskIT Desk and toilets. The UQ Graduate School Study Centre is also located on this floor. This level is open 24 hours.

The lower level is open 24hours. On this level you will find computers which can be used for word processing and access to the library website, databases and the internet. There are also printing facilities and toilets. Your student card provides you access to the lower level after the library has closed. The access door is at the back of the library.

There is a book return chute at the entrance of the UQ Gatton Library. High Use materials are to be returned to the Loans Desk.

The UQ Gatton Library provides over 88 computers for accessing the Library website including the catalogue, databases, and the internet. Word processing and email are available on computers on both levels.

A display area is available in the foyer of the Upper Level. Displays and exhibitions are used to promote Library and wider University activities. The contact for display is Shirley Hudson.

Lockers for postgraduate students are available in UQ Graduate School Study Centre on the Lower Level.

There are study areas available on the Upper Level of the UQ Gatton Library.
There are quiet discussion areas for group study on the Lower Level.
There are five group study rooms on the Lower Level. Bookings may be made for these rooms up to one week in advance, using the Room Bookings System.
The Bookings page is released daily at 4pm. To facilitate equitable sharing of the rooms students may use the Single Study Rooms for a total of three sessions per week. One session is up to two hours. Bookings may be made by entering your UQ username and password in the relevant day, room and time on the booking sheet. Students may alter their bookings themselves if necessary.
The Library requests that you put your mobile phone on silent mode when using the library. If you need to use your mobile phone, you can do so in the "Phone Friendly Zone", located in the group area on the lower level.
Over 54,000 books and 290 current journal subscriptions are held in the UQ Gatton Library. It also houses videos, CD-Roms and maps.

This collection provides recreational reading for Gatton students. The collection is jointly funded by the Library, The UQ Gatton Campus and the Halls of Residence, Gatton. The collection is located on the Upper Level of the Library.
University of Queensland staff and students may suggest items to be added to the Library's collection.
Schools and Centres may also contact their Liaison Librarian, to make a suggestion for purchase.
New print material is displayed in the Recently Received Books, Journals and Newspapers area on the Upper Level.
A list of new material is available on the Library website. For information on the latest issue of a journal, search the Library Catalogue.
The Library subscribes to the University Policy of equal access for all users. Many services for users with disabilites are provided by the University's Disability Program.
There are toilet facilities for students with disabilities on both the Upper and Lower Levels.

Lost property is held for one week at the Loans Desk on the Upper Level and is then given to Security.

The UQ Gatton Library provides copying facilities and network printing on the Upper Level and Lower Level.
There is also an automatic card dispensing machine where copy cards can be purchased and value added to existing cards on the Upper Level.
