These beautiful costume designs are the work of Thelma Afford, nee Thomas.
Initially trained as an art teacher, Thelma spent many years designing costumes for official pageants, theatre productions, and film and television.
Three albums of her designs, as well as a wealth of research material and correspondence, are held in the Max and Thelma Afford collection of papers in the Fryer Library.
