Guide to Photographs in Fryer Library Collections
Fryer Library holds many photographs. Some, such as the glass slides of Henry Alcock (UQFL256), are gathered in photograph-only collections. Most, however, form discrete parts of more diverse manuscript collections. While the catalogue records and finding aids for these collections usually refer to the images they contain, detailed descriptions of the photographs are not always included. This can pose a challenge for researchers seeking images of a particular place, event or person. Relevant photographs can easily be overlooked. This guide aims to help researchers by listing some of the collections containing significant photographic holdings. Each entry includes a descriptive summary of available photographs.
