Queensland Architectural Archive
In 1986 the Fryer Library was successful in obtaining a grant from the Design Board of Australia for assistance in gathering Queensland architectural records. The collection dates from the last two decades of the nineteenth century but is particularly strong in the period between the two World Wars. The collection includes the work of major Queensland architects and architectural firms and reflects the variety of styles found in both public and domestic architecture over some five or six decades. Notable Queensland buildings, many of which no longer exist, are documented in the collection.
An exhibition of the collection was held in 1988, a catalogue documenting the drawings that were selected, to reflect the character of the collection was published and can now be accessed online via UQ eSpace. The exhibition was researched by Donald Watson and Fiona Gardiner.
