e-book lending
apologies for the following suggestion but i'm really looking forward to its realization one day: i just read a library news on public library setting out to lend e-book to kindle users soon (see link below) and would only be too happy if we have this service coming aboard our UQ library as well.

Thank you for bringing this news snippet to our attention. Always pleased to learn of developments, as we are monitoring the ebook and ebook reader areas.
To date, most available ebook content (downloadable to handheld devices) with institutional licensing, does not fit within UQ Library's collection development policy - i.e. it is more recreational than academic in nature.
A recent local academic library study on ebook readers supports our current assessment that the market is still maturing - http://eprints.qut.edu.au/41132/.
We will maintain our watch with great interest.

I agree, it would be great to be able to access the ebooks from our library on my kindle!
