lift
I would like to complain about the lack of access to a lift in the SS&H Library. The main lift has been out of order for a long period (months?) and today when I was in the SS&H Library the staff lift was unavailable. I have a workplace injury to my knees and problem with my feet which means I am unsteady and have to go up and down stairs two feet at a time on each step. I could easily fall and it would be very costly to UQ. I am not the only person with an access issue. I believe that it is obligatory to provide proper access to buildings. Can I please have some assurance in writing that the lift will be fixed quickly or I will escalate this up UQ as far as I can go. It is simple not good enough and it may cause an accident. I will immediately raise the issue withe the Arts OH&S Committee.

Thank you for your feedback about the lift in the Social Sciences and Humanities Library. I agree that the lift is a problem that has taken too long to fix. The latest update that I have says that it will be back in service on 26 September after the gear box is replaced. In the meantime, please approach staff in the Library for assistance to go to upper levels.
