PACE library complaint

To whom it may concern,

Just wanted to point out that the PACE library is frequent treated like a fraternity house by the pharmacy student cohort, the noise levels are absolutely appalling. I personally was always under the impression that a library is a quiet place for learning, thoughts and reflection.

It really is a shame as there are many text resources available for use and it's location to the PAH makes it convenient for clinicians, RHD members and other students for use.

I sincerely hope this is something that the university can address.

Regards

Distracted, stressed and concerned student.

Thank you for bringing the noise issues at PACE Health Sciences Library to our attention. We are aware that patrons sometimes discuss with their friends when they are in the library. It is possible that sometimes our patrons do not realise that the excessive noise levels they generate during their discussions. Our staff have been monitoring the noise levels and advising patrons when necessary to keep their voice down. We also utilise signage, orientation for our new students to remind them that there are quite areas in the library reserved for quiet study only. However, if groups are particularly noisy, please let a library staff member know and we will remind them to respect other patrons needs and share the space.

Best wishes
Wai Wai
