Kindle ebooks

Hi,

Is it possible for the library to look into purchasing some Kindle ebooks that are able to be 'borrowed out'?

Thanks

Thank you for your question. The Library provides access to over 500,000 ebooks from a variety of academic publishers. These are in PDF or epub format. It does not buy ebooks with specific devices in mind.

With respect to Kindle, have you tried either of these options:

For DRM-free PDFs: hook up the Kindle to your computer through a USB cable, and drag-and-drop the PDFs from your computer to the Kindle.

The Kindle also supports DRM-free ePub files (e.g. downloaded from Google Books) however they must be converted from ePub into a file format the Kindle can understand such as PDF or MOBI. To do this, you need an app such as Calibre (http://calibre-ebook.com/) or RetroRead (http://www.retroread.com/).

Please do not hesitate to contact your subject librarian, if we may be of further assistance (https://www.library.uq.edu.au/contacts/librarians/).
