Python scripting for ArcGIS / Paul A. Zandbergen
Dear sir or Madam,
I found the following book really useful while there is only one version at the library. that would be great if the lib order more copies of the book( at the moment I am in a list to get the book)

Summary
This book is a guide for experienced users of ArcGIS® Desktop to get started with Python scripting without needing previous programming experience. Experience with other scripting or programming languages (Perl, VBA, VB script, Java, C++) is helpful but not required. Readers are expected to have good general ArcGIS skills and a basic understanding of geoprocessing procedures. There are 14 chapters with corresponding exercises on an accompanying DVD. Also included is access to a 180-day trial of ArcGIS® 10.1 for Desktop.

Thank you very much for your concern and ordering a new copy. Actually It is one of the best books for developing GIS based scripts. I have heard that its the basic material for many US universities but am not familiar whether is that the case here at UQ. Urban planning or Agricultural fields may need this book.
