about the environment of quiet study
Hi,
I want to give a suggestion about the environment of quiet study on Level 5, the Duhig Tower.
The users of individual rooms assume that they can talk as loud as they prefer since they are in their 'own' rooms, no one could hear them outside the room. But they do not know the sound insulation is actually no good at all. Could you please make a post or an instruction in the individual rooms to let the users know the truth. We, who study outside in the study area are suffering the noise of their laughters, phone-talking, loud reading, singing, etc.

Thank you for this suggestion. I will discuss with our facilities staff on the best method of communicating this. We do have signs in the group rooms on Level 5 which I am told have little effect. Perhaps the best way would be, when you hear someone talking/laughing/singing loudly, for you to knock on the door and ask them to be quiet.
