Complain about the services provided

Hi, I would like to address an issue I faced yesterday.

I wanted to borrow a book from the BioScience book machine yesterday, but the machine wasn't working. What I did was, trying to look for any technician or librarian who can assist me with this problem in BioScience Library. Unfortunately, I can't find any of them after 15mins walking around the library. So I went to Social Science Library, hoping that the librarians could give a hand about this issue. After telling a librarian, I was then asked to go to Hawken Engineering Library to meet the person in charge with the book machine. The person in charged then walked back to BioScience Library with me to resolve this problem. And the same time, there was a technician came to checked on the machine. Thanks to both the UQ staffs for helping me.

What I can say is, the entire process was really time consuming. It took roughly 45mins to get this problem resolved. I reckon that, it would be the best to appoint a technician in BioScience Library that students can easily find and contact him/her when they face problems of borrowing/returning books in the book machine. I hope UQ Library can further improve the service to avoid the repetition of this issue in the near future.

Thanks.

Dear Student,

Thank you for your suggestion and it is an issue which we are currently working on.

We are hoping to provide a new model of technical support that will be more timely and responsive in the near future.

I apologise for the time it took you to obtain the book you required.
