Please make scanning free..

Hi,

I noted that use of the scanner at the libraries still charge students for each page scanned. I think that should be made free since it is an inbuilt function of the all-in-one machines and there are no consumables use in the process.

Thank you for your suggestion about scanning services in the Library. The Library provides print, copy and scanning services in partnership with Unicard. The service is not subsidised. Copiers are replaced every three years to ensure the latest technology is available to patrons and that the machines operate reliably. Scanning was introduced three years ago at a minimal price per page to encourage usage, but still allow the Library to recover some of the costs of providing a copy, printing and scanning service. These costs include; leasing, consumables, paper and service charges. Any profits made from the service are invested in improving Library facilities.
