Upgrading Library Facilities: SSH
Hi I was wondering if there are any plans for renovating the SSH Library to make it a more modern and inviting environment to study. Considering its centrality and its high use, possibly, an extra few levels or extensions could be added to it. Perhaps even a glass facade could be added like with the BSL that allows extra space and more natural lighting. The renovation of the BSL made it one of the most popular study spaces on campus. A similar renovation of the SSH would surely have the same effect. The SSH is by far the most conveniently placed library on campus yet it has the worst facilities (furniture, design, space ect.)

Thank you for your feedback about facilities in the Social Sciences and Humanities Library. There have been some significant improvements to this Library in recent years. The refurbishment of level 1, installation of an automated book return, relocaton of the reference collection and the introduction of a book dispensing machine have happened within the past three years. Over the next twelve months, some of the print collection within SSAH will be relocated to a new Library warehouse at Gatton Campus. This will free up some space in the Library that will be used for improved patron facilities. However, there are no plans for a major renovation of the building.
