Opening hours for Sunday 26 June 2011

I wasted my time in travelling to UQ to undertake some research in the SSH library today (Sunday 26 June). There was no prominent signage or notices advising that the library would be closed on this date or for that matter what would be the opening times during the period between semesters.

Clearly those responsible for the operation of libraries on campus are not paid to communicate effectively with students about library operations nor are they paid to think ahead or in real time for that matter.

They clearly need to lift their game substantially. I wait with baited breath for some improvement in this regard, but then I am probably asking too much.

Thank you for your email.
I am sorry that you came out to the St Lucia site on Sunday.
There are signs in our standard signage areas showing the
"Inter-semester Break" Library opening hours.
These show the Library as being closed on the Sundays during this period.

We have always reduced out hours once the last exam is finished.

Recently we have introduced a new feature on our website that allows you to log in "My Library" - a feature that allows brings a lot of the library related information that you need together in one spot - including the opening hours.

Library opening hours are clearly signed all over each library, and they are available on the library website. Surely if you can find the feedback page to have a whinge you can find the opening hours page.
